Consistently good quality

This was my third order from Weikav, this time for a WK75 kit, and they're still delivering. My first was a Lucky65 a while back, then some PBT keycaps. Every time, the products arrive well-packed and match the descriptions. The WK75 has that same solid feel I've come to expect from their aluminum boards. It's nice knowing what you're getting when you order from them. No surprises, which is a good thing for keyboard parts. I keep coming back because their stuff just works and lasts.

Great price for Lucky65 v3

I was looking for a new keyboard and saw the Lucky65 v3 on sale. It was a really good price for an aluminum gasket mount kit, felt like I got a solid deal. Shipping wasn't super fast, took about 10 days to reach me in Texas, but for the savings, I didn't mind waiting. Everything came well-packaged. The assembly was pretty straightforward and the final product feels much more expensive than what I paid. Definitely felt like a smart purchase for my budget.

Good kit, slow shipping

I ordered a Sugar65 barebones kit and it's a pretty good deal for an aluminum board. The build quality was solid, and everything fit together without issues. The hot-swap sockets worked fine with my switches. My main gripe was the shipping; it took almost two weeks to get to my place in Ohio, which felt a bit long compared to some other online stores. Also, the instructions were a little sparse, but I managed. Good value, just be prepared to wait a bit for delivery.

Love my new Max102!

I got the Max102 with linear switches and it's amazing! It feels so premium and the RGB lighting looks fantastic. I was a bit worried about building it myself but it was surprisingly straightforward, even for a beginner like me. The sound and feel are just perfect, so much better than my old keyboard. I'm already eyeing a desk mat from them. Definitely going to shop here again for future keyboard parts, and I've already told my friends about Weikav!

Got my Lucky65, pretty good

Hey, so I finally got my Lucky65 from Weikav. It came in about a week, which was alright since I'm in California. Putting it together was easier than I thought, just followed some guides online. The quality feels really solid for the price, like way better than plastic boards. Typing on it is nice, the gasket mount makes a difference. Overall, I'm happy with it, no complaints really.

Are the Lucky65 v3 upgrades worth it over the original Lucky65? What's the main difference?

L Lisa Foster 2 months ago
The v3 usually has some minor internal improvements, maybe better acoustics or a refined mounting system. Often it's little tweaks to the case or plate.

It's mostly quality of life stuff. Better internal dampening, sometimes a slightly different aesthetic. If the price difference isn't huge, the v3 is probably a bit more refined, but the original is still good.

Is the Lucky65 compatible with Mac? I use a MacBook Pro for work and don't want to deal with driver issues.

J Jared M. 2 months ago
Yep, my Lucky65 works fine with my Mac. Plug and play, no special drivers needed.

Most of these custom keyboards are. The Lucky65 should be no problem, key remapping usually happens in software that's cross-platform or via a web tool.

So, how easy are returns if I get a Lucky65 and decide it's not for me? Is it a hassle?

C Cleo C. 2 months ago
Pretty straightforward actually. I had to return a faulty stabilizer set once and they were cool about it. Just follow their process on the site.

Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month. Just make sure you read their policy about condition and timing, standard stuff really.

Anyone know if Weikav is legit? Saw some good deals on the WK75 but haven't heard much about them before.

C Carly Okafor 1 month ago
Totally legit. They're pretty well-known in the custom keyboard scene, especially for their aluminum gasket-mount stuff. Been around a bit.

Yeah, they're good. I got a Lucky65 from them last year and it's solid. Quality is surprisingly good for the price point they hit.

Thinking about the WK870, but also looking at something similar from MonsGeek. How do Weikav keyboards compare quality-wise?

P Phil Lindqvist 2 months ago
Weikav and MonsGeek are both pretty good value, but I'd say Weikav often edges out for pure aluminum quality at the same price point. MonsGeek is good, but Weikav feels a bit more premium sometimes.

It depends on the specific model. Weikav's gasket mount implementations are usually top-notch. MonsGeek is solid too, but Weikav might offer a slightly better typing feel if you're into that soft gasket bounce.

What's the typical shipping time for, say, New York? Trying to get a Max102 before a friend's birthday next month.

S Sarah Torres 2 months ago
Hard to say exactly, but for the US, I usually see stuff arrive within 1-2 weeks. It can vary a bit though.

T Tara 2 months ago
Mine took about 10 days to California. NYC might be similar, I'd give it at least a week and a half to be safe, maybe two if you're pushing it close.

Are there any active promo codes floating around right now for the NUT65? Or like, a first-time buyer discount?

R Rosa 2 months ago
They often have influencer codes if you check YouTube reviews or Twitch streams. First order? Not always, but worth looking for a general seasonal sale.

B Brett Ito 2 months ago
I've seen some 5-10% codes. Check the usual spots like keyboard subreddits or discord servers, sometimes people post them. Black Friday/Cyber Monday is when the really good stuff happens though.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a Lucky65. Does it come with switches and keycaps, or is it just the barebones kit? Trying to figure out my budget.

M Mark 2 months ago
Nah, most of their stuff, especially the Lucky65, is just the barebones kit. You gotta add your own switches and keycaps. Good way to customize though!
3
R Ryan Torres 2 months ago
Yeah, confirmed. It's usually just the kit. You'll need to buy switches and keycaps separately. That's kinda the point with these gasket mounts, you build it how you like.
